New Downtown High Rise Set for Construction this Month

According to the Orlando Business Journal, a groundbreaking ceremony is set for a new 22-Story high rise apartment building in Downtown Orlando October 26th.

This most likely means that the construction of the high-rise, Modera at Mill Creek, Central, will start very soon. The downtown skyline will look a little different once this Mill Creek Residential apartment building is raised above Rosalind Avenue and Central Boulevard. It will be at the epicenter of South Eola and the Central Business District.

Modera will boast 350 luxury apartment units, an elevated pool deck, and 35,000 square feet of commercial space. This adds to the residential options downtown and will help meet the ever growing demand for downtown living.

Modera at Mill Creek’s debut is planned for the Fall of 2018.

Creative Village development plans include hotel and residences

We’re now starting to see what could potentially be coming to the first phase of the Creative Village development in downtown Orlando. The joint venturers, Creative Village Development an Ustler Development, Inc., have chosen JLL commercial property management to market three select sites. These select sites will be marketed to third party buyers for the 68-acre live/work/play complex at University of Central Florida’s Downtown Campus.

These select sites have been approved for:

  • A rental residential community of at least 250 units
  • Office space with at least 120,000 square feet of commercial space
  • Several hundred thousand square feet of space for hotel, commercial, and/or multi-family housing.

According to the Orlando Business Journal,

“UCF Downtown will anchor this exciting new urban district,” Gray, JLL senior vice president, said in a prepared statement. “For the country’s second-largest public university to bring 7,700 students to Creative Village on Day One is a game changer for downtown Orlando. These phase 1 parcels offer developers a rare opportunity to align themselves with one of the most forward-thinking projects to ever take shape in Central Florida.”

Forward thinking, indeed! The Creative Village is a unique opportunity and will truly change the character of downtown for the better. Expansion, culture, and plenty of new residential opportunities ahead to make our Downtown Orlando thrive ever more.
